It is my mission to create easy and functional organizing systems for overloaded women.
How It All Got Started
Have you ever said you’re going to do something and then not realize how hard it would be? Well that’s exactly what happened when I started this blog. Who knew it would be so.much.work? It’s just a few webpages, can’t be that bad right? Wrong, dead wrong.
I originally started this blog out at organizedmoms.com and quickly found out there was a website called organizedmoms.net. Thankfully, I had just started and was able to change the name pretty seamlessly.
Why did I want to start a blog? Organizing has been my passion for as long as I can remember and I wasn’t doing anything with the gift God had given me, I didn’t want to waste it. Our daughter had just turned one and I knew I didn’t want to do the corporate thing forever.
It’s funny because growing up I wanted to climb the corporate ladder, that was my path. Even after getting married, I was still on that trajectory. It all started to change once we had kids. I planned on being a working mom even after having kids but started to realize the corporate path might not be the best fit.
This might surprise some but I didn’t have mom guilt going back to work after our first was born. I’ve always enjoyed working, I’ve been working since I was 13, work is in my blood.
Starting a blog seemed to be the best way to help others while still being able to work full-time. So that is how the blog got started.
My goal has always been to show you how you can get organized, whether it’s the kitchen or bathroom. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to organizing. My style is easy and functional because I want it to work well.

I was born and raised in Fargo, ND. True story, I still get people to this day asking “Like the movie?”
The oldest of three girls. My sisters are amazing human beings, we have a lot of fun when we’re together and still bicker from time to time.
I love being from there but always knew my destiny would be elsewhere. Soccer was a big part of my life, I played all the way through college. After college is when I left the Midwest.
My first corporate job put me in South Carolina, then New Jersey, and Virginia. I met my husband through work which “I was never going to date someone from work” Yeah that lasted long 😉 He’s from New York and it’s funny, I always knew I was going to marry a New Yorker. Here we are almost 10 years later.
We lived in Virginia and then moved to California and got to enjoy the beauty and wine of the Napa Valley. We are now back in Charlotte, NC (where we first met) to raise our family.
Speaking of family, we have three kids, a German Shepard and a cat. I have no clue what kind of cat she is because I am not a cat person. Really never thought I’d EVER own one, it took convincing from my husband for quite some time. We were having a rodent issue and nothing was working, he insisted on a cat and I finally caved. One of the BEST decisions we have ever made, our rodent problem was gone almost immediately. Plus, I hardly ever see her so it works out well 😉
Being a parent has been the hardest and most rewarding job in the world. There have been times I’ve cried wondering “what are we doing wrong” and there are times where I’ve smiled “we must be doing something right”.
Despite living in a Pinterest perfect and Instagram worthy world, we are not perfect, far from it. We’ve had our fair share of job struggles, health struggles and family struggles.
I’m a millennial that grew up watching cartoons Saturday morning, waiting for TGIF, having a crush on Dylan from 90210 and Zach from Saved By The Bell, riding my bike everywhere until I could drive and playing CD’s on my CD player, which usually consisted of Mariah Carey or Celine Dion 🙈
