In just a few short weeks the New Year will be here. It’s that time again when goals and New Year’s resolutions come rolling around. Getting organized is one of the most popular goals/resolutions.
On a completely separate note, I prefer the word goals over resolutions and here’s why. I feel the word goal has more motivation to it and encourages you to “go” after what you want.
Back to the main topic of this post, getting your cleaners ready for the New Year. When you organize a space, the first step is to empty it out. After you empty it out, you want to clean that space. If you’re cleaning out a bathroom drawer, junk drawer, or a shelf chances are there’s dirt or crumbs in there.
Having your cleaners ready to go and with you on your project, will make it go smoother and faster. It will save you time from gathering the supplies and/or searching for the cleaner you need.
Here’s how to get your cleaners ready for the New Year:
- Empty the Space. Wherever you keep your cleaners, empty out the space and take inventory of what you have. Get rid of any cleaners you don’t need. Once you have figured out what you have, analyze the cleaners and the space to figure out what system is going to work best.
- Establish a System. Most people store their cleaners under the kitchen sink. Use a shelf to create more space and give it an organized look and feel.
Here are a few under-sink storage solutions:
Here are a few cleaning caddy’s you can use to carry the cleaners around the house:
We used to store our cleaners under the sink but after having kids I became paranoid they would get into them even with the child locks. The cleaners are stored in a kitchen cabinet, here’s what we store under our sink:
These are the baskets we use. There are three different sizes, they come in Large, Medium, and Small. We use the large ones.
Getting your cleaners ready now will also help you get ready for any Christmas guests you might be having 🙂
