Amazon has delivered a platform that many didn’t think were possible. It defied the odds and has turned into an online power house.
Are you an Amazon Prime member? Or do you become an Amazon Prime member for a day to get the free two day shipping and then cancels it? #yesiadmitit After doing that more times than I care to admit, we finally plugged the plug and kept the membership. Not only is it amazing it but should’ve done it sooner.
Amazon has really changed the way people buy and businesses ship products. Full disclosure: I drink the Amazon cool-aide, just like Apple. When companies help improve your day-to-day life and make it easier to do things, it makes a huge difference and makes for loyal customers.
Using Amazon Prime will simplify your life. It will allow you to become more efficient because there won’t be as many trips made to the store. You will save money because they tend to have better prices than retail stores, not always the case but do the majority of the time. No one likes paying for shipping and that’s the best part of being an Amazon Prime member. Not only is it free but free two-day shipping. When you buy something online, you want it as fast as you can possibly get it, paying for rush shipping tends to cost a fortune, so you have to patiently wait the 5-7 business days allotted.
Here’s how you can stay organized with Amazon Prime:
- One Stop Shop: Amazon has it all, literally. There have been times where I was certain they wouldn’t have what I needed and it proved me wrong. They even deliver groceries, which I haven’t tried yet but heard it’s good. They also are now testing our same day delivery. If you’re a busy mom, you try to get all your shopping done at one place is your ultimate goal because hauling around kids to stores is a challenge. There’s always more that ends up in your shopping cart and you never know when a tantrum will break out. You save time by not having to go out to the stores, you can save money because it’ll be easier to stick to your budget, no extra hands throwing stuff in your shopping cart. Last but not least, you won’t have to deal with any potential meltdowns, every moms dream 😉
- Auto Renewal: This is something I really wish we’d started a long time ago. This is ideal for items that you are frequently buying such as dog food, diapers, wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It’s also one less item that you have to worry about putting on the list, you also get a lower price when you sign up for this, done deal! There’s no panic or rush to get an item when it’s on auto renewal. It’s like booking your next hair appointment when you are at the salon rather than waiting to book the appointment. When the appointment isn’t booked, you put off scheduling it for as long as possible. Usually when this happens it’s harder to get the desired time slot because the salon is booked.
- Gifts: For the past two years for Christmas, every gift has been bought through Amazon and what a stress relief it’s been. You don’t have to deal with busy stores, traffic, or trying to map out where you need to buy each gift. Since buying Christmas gifts this way has been so successful, it’s now how most birthday gifts are bought too. What’s also really nice about gifts through Amazon is you can save the addresses of where you ship the items, so you don’t have to enter them each and every time. Nice little time saver.
- Returns: Making returns with Prime is easy because of the simplicity. If you have the app on your smartphone, it’s even easier because all you have to do is open the app, find your recent order and select the return button. Once that’s done, you can print the return label right from your phone if you have a wireless printer set-up.
Becoming an Amazon Prime member has become a huge time saver and money saver too. The forgetful mom brain hasn’t been totally eliminated but it sure has helped out quite a bit. It’s much easier to open up your computer or shop on the app at 9:00pm at night than trying to figure out when you’re going to get to the store to get what you need.
Are you an Amazon Prime member? If you have it, what do you love about it?
