Meal planning is a tough process especially if you are not naturally good at getting meals together or if you like to cook. It’s also really tough if you are a working mom because most meals take time to cook and after a full day of work, the last thing you want to do is cook a long meal. Even if you prep meals ahead of time, they still can be time consuming.
In February, we were introduced to Gobble and it has transformed how we meal plan, here’s how:
- Time Saved- Each Gobble meal can be made in 10 minutes or less in one pan! It’s not too good to be true, there are a few that have been longer than that but not many. Not as much time is spent on doing dishes because there isn’t that much to wash. Besides saving time cooking, it has also saved time meal planning. The delivery we receive is meals for three days a week, the delivery comes on Tuesday. We usually only have to plan two meals for the week because we have three already taken care of. The trips to the grocery store have decreased because meals only need to be planned for two and they don’t take as long. The weekends usually don’t get planned until the weekend because there’s usually something going on. Here’s how a typical week looks:
- Monday- Leftovers from weekend or cook meal
- Tuesday- Gobble Meal
- Wednesday- Gobble Meal
- Thursday- Gobble Meal
- Friday- Take Out
- Money Saved– Time was saved by not going to the grocery store, with that being said, money was being saved as well. A box of 6 meals costs $71.70 a week including shipping and tax. It comes out to $11.95 per meal. Yes, you could save more by meal planning but the amount of time saved outweighs it. There are usually not too many leftovers either so less food is throw away.
- Eating Healthier– These are some fresh meals! They are very healthy, usually consisting of meat, fish, vegetables, and a starch. They proportioned accordingly so it’ll help prevent overeating. They are tasty too. There have been a few meals that look too appetizing but tasted delicious.
Gobble isn’t the only meal planning service out there, there are tons. Blue Apron is really popular. Hello Fresh and Munchery are a few others as well. Save time, money, and the hassle of meal planning by having half of your week planned for you.
Have you ever tried a meal planning service? Did you like it?
