Let's create the organized home you've been waiting for

When you run a marathon, you train for it for months, it’s not something that happens overnight.  Losing weight consists of what you did consistently over time, not overnight.  When you get out of debt, you start with the smallest debt first to build momentum.  Starting small with anything is power because it’s what keeps you going when things get hard.

Starting small gives you quick wins which in turn gives you more confidence and pushes you into the next level.  Getting organized is a choice just like saving money and eating healthier.  It’s a lifestyle and when adjusting to a new lifestyle, you are creating new habits to help you achieve your goal.

Getting your home organized is a marathon, not a sprint.  Starting small is so important when you are just getting started.  Here are a few places to get you your first quick wins.

Under-The-Kitchen Sink

Storage underneath the kitchen sink is often overlooked because of the piping.  It’s a huge eye sore that makes it difficult to configure a system that will work well.

Stackable bins work great here because they create more space.  Most spaces don’t have shelving and stackable bins solve that problem.  Keep the frequently used cleaners on top for easy access, empty out pods for grab and go, and get rid of any type of packaging.  Packaging takes up unnecessary space.

 Junk Drawer

There’s always that one catch all drawer for everything, aka the junk drawer. Tackle the drawer by adding structure with drawer organizers.  Empty it out completely and sort by category.

Measure the drawer and choose organizers that match and ones you love looking at.  Having ones you love looking makes is aesthetically appealing and makes our brains happy which in turn will help you keep it organized.

You’re not going to be bringing in your junk drawer items to The Container Store to see what bins you need, if you do we need to chat 😉 so make sure get a variety of sizes.  You can return what’s not used and it’ll be an easier win when you have everything you need.

Utensil Drawer

Organizing a utensil drawer is very similar to organizing a junk drawer or any drawer for that matter.  The same type of strategies apply.  Emptying it out, sorting, and getting rid of items no longer needed.

Getting drawer organizers provides a great framework that eliminates the shuffle of finding what’s needed.  Measuring the drawer is extremely important because you want the drawer to be able to close.  There are deep drawer organizers and shall drawer organizers and if you choose one that won’t fit, it’ll stop you in your tracks and kill the momentum.
